I have a small open source program i use I take statics from a web site. Recently the web site change witch cause the program not to work.
The change was simple ware as you use to have 32 picture on a page they have change it to 16. So the change to the program would be simple as well look for the 32 and change to 16. On the web site many people use the program aand the bullition boards were full of help program not working. This realy showed up the two side of open source software, every one had access to the code but only a few people knew what to do with it. So I set up the dev environment for qt4 and made the change and recompiled the program, wich in its new form worked. How ever this was only good for linux. So althoue i distibute the linux binary no one the windows and mac users still had no program. Hence the trying to set up the cross compile witch i still have not managed to do.
So my conclusion from all this Open source is a good idea, but only if you know what to do with it. Late some had recompiled the windows binary (but no one the mac yet).
So as well as open source there need to be teaching. So like the old, give a person a fish they feed them selfs for a day give a teach a person to fish they feed them selves for life. Open source must teach people to compile the code on all platforms, other wise the idea starts to fade.
We’ve been saying we should go to the Waterworks Nature Reserve to have a look as we live nearby. So today it was sunny and warm so off we went. We got there by walking through the Lea Valley which is lovely, though all the plants seem to be putting out pollen and there are clouds of midges hovering about.
Saw loads of birds on the way, had a cup of tea at the centre, then off to the waterworks to view the birds. Even saw a grass snake swimming along! Well worth the trip and really must do it more often.

Had some trouble inishaly getting it on to a wpa2 net work looks like it ones the pass key in hex not askii. bug ? well their is part of the wpa supplicatin o by the way is basically fc7 so once you get to the termanul passed the suget interface is yum install there are a few difference but not many so as i was saying part od wpa suplicat is wpa_passphrase give it you essid and pass phrase it gives out the hex copy and passed that in to the dialog box and you on.
after that i did an update to build 656 witch may help ?
but it seans to remember the key so now i turn on and log in.
its green its cute is an XO 🙂
Well it’s the last day of 2007 and I cannot say I will be sad to see it go.
It has not been a good year, we have lost far too many good friends, family and work mates this year so we will be raising our glass to toast those not with us as the year passes by. So much has gone wrong and troubles too many to mention. So to all I hope the next 12 months sees gladness replace the sadness, joy replace the pain and good fortune replace the downs of two thousand and seven.
So bring in the new and sod off the old.
2007 you are the weakest link and p.s. you’re fired.
